Hello, my name is Jody Gilbert, Owner of ECDC. I am a co-pastor with my husband at New Direction Spiritual Center and have spent the last several years in the Medical Field as a Manager within Baptist Health Richmond. Upon my retirement in the fall of 2022, I wanted to continue serving those in my community in a positive manner which led to discussion of a center such as ECDC with my daughter in law, Lydia, who is now the Director. I have a special place in my heart to see children succeed and with mutual goals alongside Lydia, we have hoped to create an atmosphere that will allow children in Estill to do just that.

LYDIA GILBERT, BSW
Hello! My name is Lydia Gilbert and I am the Director of Estill Child Development Center! I was born and raised here in Estill and still reside here with my family that includes my two boys, Jackson and Grant. I obtained my Bachelors in Social Work with a minor in Child and Family Studies from Eastern Kentucky University and have worked with many different populations throughout my career. Prior to establishing plans for ECDC, I worked for the state's Preservation and Reunification Program, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and in Mental Healthcare where I also became certified in Serious Mental Illnesses (SMI), Substance Use Disorders (SUD), and Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) Case Management. The majority of my experiences have been directly related to my professional interests of improving child welfare and helping the general wellbeing of families in my local and surrounding communities by providing linkages to local resources, advocating for needs, and being a helping hand during families hard times. I was also honored to be commissioned a Kentucky Colonel for my professional services to my communities and resources established through ECDC.
I established ECDC with local families in mind and a main commitment to improve the lives of all those that enter. I want ECDC to not only be a place of growth for the children who it serves but teachers and families as well that attend.

Hello! My name is Callee Arvin and I am one of the Two Year Old Leads. My favorite thing about ECDC is how I have the opportunity to watch the little ones grow, develop their personalities, watch their accomplishments, and also have the opportunity to grow and improve my professional development at the same time. I wanted to work specifically at ECDC because they care and show how special each and every child is. I will begin my Child Development Associate (CDA) and continue to help the children grow by educating them, encouraging them, and by being a general support for them each and every day.
